Star Wars: Episode IV - A New Hope (Unabridged/Official)

Based on the film of the same name, written by George Lucas but ghostwritten by Alan Dean Foster, the novel is set in the year 0 BBY. It was written based on an earlier script for the film, resulting in some notable differences. Originally titled: Star Wars: From The Adventures Of Luke Skywalker.

Plot summary:
It's been 19 years since the fall of the Jedi/Republic and the rise of the Galactic Empire. The Jedi are all but extinct, Anakin has become Darth Vader, and the Emperor now rules the galaxy. In an attempt to put an end to the revolt against the Galactic Empire, Princess Leia is being held captive by the Imperial Forces, who are led by the ruthless Darth Vader. Along with the amiable droid pair R2-D2 and C-3PO, Luke Skywalker, Han Solo, and the Millennium Falcon's captain collaborate to save the lovely princess, support the Rebel Alliance, and bring liberty and justice back to the galaxy.
