How We Protect and Advocate [Audio Description]

Everyone deserves to live free from abuse, neglect, and discrimination. Protection & Advocacy (P&A) agencies, like Disability Rights Maine, are unique organizations with the authority to investigate rights violations, fight for systemic change, and support individuals with disabilities. From securing reasonable accommodations at work, to ensuring students with disabilities are treated fairly in school, to advocating for accessible voting, P&As work every day to protect rights and remove barriers. With 57 P&As across the country, the P&A network is critical to advancing the rights of people with disabilities across the country. Right now, P&A advocacy work is being threatened, but we must continue to fight for our continued existence.
