1968 Mercury Cougar XR7 Resto-Mod
Owned and presented by Mike.
MIke has many modifications, helping to make it a modern driver.
He added a 347 Cu. In. V-8 “Crate Engine”, 5 speed manual transmission, air conditioning,
upgraded suspension, new gauges and interior + many more modern touches.
An original XR7 would be equipped with a 302 Cu. In. V-8 producing 210 HP. An optional 302
was available, producing 230 HP. A more powerful 390 Cu. In. V-8 “Marauder” engine was available with 280 HP or the more powerful 325 HP.
There were 8 generations of Cougars, starting in 1967 - 2002.
32,709 Mercury Cougar XR7’s were produced in 1968.
