Miuccia Prada throws out the rulebook — again. For Spring 2007, she walks away from the gritty, streetwise attitude of fall and replaces it with sharp jewel-toned satins, ultrashort tunics worn as tops, and forties-inflected tailoring. Think nylon backpacks strapped over duchesse satin, turbans, and pencil skirts that echo Yves Saint Laurent’s 1970s nod to the ’40s.

The result? A collection that resists trends and insists on instinct — destabilizing, cerebral, and undeniably chic. Prada herself brushed off overanalysis: “I just didn’t like anything I did below the waist.” Fair enough.
