I Stopped Doing THIS and INSTANTLY Improved My Skating (Tips for Beginner Roller Skaters)
When I was first learning how to roller skate, I would roll forward and then after picking up one foot, I'd place it down, AWAY from my body. I would spread my feet far apart, thinking that this would help me balance. In reality, this hinders balance. Once I stopped doing this, I instantly improved my roller skating skills and I suddenly didn't look like a newbie.
If you want to improve your skating quickly, start stepping under yourself as you glide and step. It may seem like having your feet spread apart is better for balance, but not quite. That initial step in between each push/glide forward, needs to be underneath the center of your body. Don't forget to lean side to side and bend your knees as you start to gain momentum and move forward. I hope that this tutorial for beginner roller skaters helps you out!
