We are coming to the end of one of the most singular post war Premierships - and the demise of a Prime Minister who entered No10 just over three years ago, saying his mission was to restore Britain's faith in itself.

The following December, Boris Johnson won the biggest Conservative victory since Margaret Thatcher swept to power in 1987. Newsnight reflects on the recent meteoric rise, and spectacular fall of the man.

Was he entirely the architect of his own misfortune, or is that wide of the mark? The chronicler of Prime Ministers, Michael Cockerell, famously charted Boris Johnson's journey to the top in a landmark documentary almost a decade ago.

As we enter the final days of the Johnson era Newsnight asked him to update the story and assess the prime minister's fall and legacy.
