Today I'm tackling what I thought was going to be an easy job and work on this Hitachi tape deck using the ML-1 transport. What actually ended up happening was a full blown nightmare full of gooified belts, broken plastic parts, and even damaged irreplaceable metal parts. A lot of lower end Hitachi decks appear to use this mechanism, and this example definitely does not make a good first impression.
Pinch roller: 13x8x2mm
Reel table idlers (two needed): 14x19x2mm
Fast wind idler: 11x16x2mm (estimated, did not need replacement)
Capstan belt: 240mm IC x 3mm flat
Reel belt: 220mm IC x 1.5mm square
Auto-stop belt: 118mm IC x 1mm square
