Rimshots & Lug Locks - Unwanted Detuning | Season Two, Episode 32

If you’ve ever played a decent amount of rimshots throughout the course of a song/show/session, you’ve probably experienced a bit of detuning. Maybe it’s just a single tension rod or maybe there are a few (and potentially on the reso side as well). This doesn’t mean that there’s anything wrong with the drum- it’s just the reality of rimshots (especially with 10-lug snare drums). In this episode, we cover how to diagnose the issue and discuss the use of a couple different solutions.
