Somaliland, Somalia's breakaway region, has officially cut off all dialogue with Somalia as of April 16, following Somali Prime Minister Hamza Barre’s visit to a disputed city in the Sool region. The area is currently controlled by SSC-Khaatumo forces who are loyal to Somalia. Somaliland called the visit a calculated provocation and accused Somalia of violating its territorial integrity.
