Just over a year ago, this previously uncirculated audience recording of Oasis’ first public performance with Andy and Gem was spread out on bootleg forums. It provides a different listening experience to the well-bootlegged webcast recording, as the entire thing is captured, with in-between song banter and the band’s announcement on stage to boot, and makes this source the most complete of the three that we have (the video shot from the audience is an entirely different recording). The recording sounded good but I decided to EQ it a bit to get the guitars out just that little bit more. The end result is a really great sounding audience tape, and possibly an overall better mix compared to the strangely vocal-heavy webcast mix, plus you really hear just how ecstatic the audience is that Oasis were back. Which source do you prefer?
