1917 Irving Kaufman & Columbia Quartette - Hail! Hail! The Gang’s All Here

This familiar chant was a lyrical adaptation of a melody from Arthur Sullivan’s comic opera “The Pirates Of Penzance”; and the accompanying vocal group heard here would soon change its name on most recordings to the more commonly-recognized Peerless Quartet.

The original 78rpm single was issued on Columbia A2443 - Hail! Hail! The Gang’s All Here (Theodora Morse-Arthur Sullivan) by Irving Kaufman and the Columbia Quartette, recorded in NYC October 2, 1917, released in early 1918 .
