An explosive eruption occurred at Kanlaon Volcano in Negros Island on Monday afternoon, December 9, prompting the declaration of Alert Level 3.
Phivolcs said the explosive eruption happened at 3:03 pm on Monday, producing “a voluminous plume that rapidly rose to 3,000 meters” above Kanlaon’s summit vent.
