At the 1 Billion Followers Summit 2026 in Dubai, Ghanaian YouTuber Wode Maya made history by representing African creators on one of the world’s biggest digital stages. During the summit, Wode Maya met global YouTube icon MrBeast, and together they announced a powerful philanthropic collaboration set to transform an entire village in Ghana later this year.

This life-changing project will focus on building essential infrastructure, including a hospital, a school, and clean water wells, ensuring real and lasting impact for the local community. Wode Maya was personally selected by MrBeast to help lead and plan the project, highlighting the trust placed in African creators to drive meaningful change.

The initiative is part of the 1 Billion Acts of Kindness campaign, bringing together 10–20 top global creators to use content as a force for good under the theme “Content for Good.”

From walking African streets with a camera to standing at the Museum of the Future in Dubai, Wode Maya’s journey is proof that African stories matter — and African creators belong on the global stage.
