12 Days in Turkey with Travel Talk 2025 (to the music of Thomas Bergersen)

We recently visited Turkey for the first time and opted for a 12 day all inclusive tour with Travel Talk, in late October. It proved to be a fantastic choice.

This was towards the end of the season which coincidentally provided certain discounts (we saved over £100 each on the balloon ride alone) to upgraded hotels.

Our tour guide Mustafa was exceptional, with the group itself consisting mainly of Australian/New Zealand holiday makes with ages ranging from late 20's to 70's.

Istanbul was bustling with its mosques and markets. Gallipoli was very moving, especially being in a group of Australians & Kiwis.

Perhaps my favourite historical location was Ephesus. There is so much to see there that it's easy to imagine people living here in the past. Troy, although perhaps more famous, was personally less impressive.

As we ventured further south we were upgraded to a 5 star hotel, the Club Tuana in Fethiye, for 3 days of relaxation. Whilst here we visited the Sakilkent National Park, cruised the Dalyan River and visited the Travertine Terraces at Pumakkale.

Perhaps the most magical place was Cappadocia with its Underground City, Mushroom Houses and Balloon ride. Be prepared not to fly. Of the 5 tours that visited whilst we were there, ours was the only one able to fly due to adverse weather.

A fantastic introduction to Turkey and highly recommend.

I'm also a huge fan of Thomas Bergersen and his music really helps recreate the atmosphere of stunning Turkey.
