This is where it begins.
After a solid Gold Coast 10K, it's time to shift gears and start building toward my next goal: a fast 10K at Sydney Marathon. This video kicks off a brand-new training block—and a brand-new series—where I'm chasing speed, strength, and redemption after five years of frustrating injuries.
In this episode, I take you through:
The first speed session of the block: 7x800 + 7x200 (hello, pain cave!)
A recap of my injury history that’s shaped this journey
Why I’m choosing the Sydney 10K over the full marathon
My long-term goal of running a 2:30 marathon
What this next phase is really about: getting fast and doing it right
If you’ve ever had to rebuild from injury, lost confidence in your body, or doubted if you could come back stronger—this one’s for you. The comeback is never a straight line. It’s messy, cold (literally), and full of setbacks. But that’s all part of it.
My 10K PB is 35:23 from 2019—right before a stress fracture that led to years of missed races. The new goal? Low 33s… maybe even 32-something if all goes to plan. This series is about seeing how close I can get and using that momentum to prepare for a marathon in 2026.
So if you’re into:
Real running journeys (not just highlight reels)
Honest training updates (even the cold, failed session kind)
Long-term athletic goals
Getting faster after setbacks
Chasing PBs with purpose
Then I’d love to have you follow along. It’s going to be a long project, and I’m just getting started.
