There’s never a dull moment on the farm — and this vlog proves it. Join me for a real, unfiltered day as we juggle winter prep, livestock care, feeding routines, and a bit of unexpected chaos along the way.
We started the week dropping our wool from shearing to a wool merchant, before moving on to some essential cattle management. the cattle we brought in the week before are weighed, wormed, and clipped — trimming backs and tails to help with hygiene, comfort, and airflow during winter housing.
As the frost settles in, I’m learning a new job on the farm - feeding. From peeling back silage sheets to loading the mixer wagon, you’ll see exactly how grass silage, maize, and barley are combined to make a balanced winter ration so every cow gets the same nutrition in every mouthful.
The day continues with:
🐮 Cleaning and bedding calf pens with fresh straw
🍼 Feeding milk calves (and dealing with some very cheeky ones!)
🔧 Fixing water troughs before they cause bigger problems
🌩️ Battling bad weather, hail thunder & Lightening
And just when we think we’re done… the cows decide to break out of the shed in the pitch black, right as we’re about to deliver Christmas trees 🎄. Gate off hinges, cows loose in the field — proper farm chaos to end the day.
If you enjoy real farm life, honest vlogs, livestock care, and behind-the-scenes rural living, this one’s for you.
