Türk Halk Müziği'nin en büyük ozanlarından biri olan Aşık Mahzuni Şerif'e ait olan bu eser, buram buram Anadolu kokan metaforlarla örülü, derin bir hayal kırıklığı, ihanet acısı ve büyük bir pişmanlık manifestosudur.

Şarkının temel duygusu, sevilen kişiye duyulan güvenin yalanlarla sarsılması ve bu kişiyle geçmişte kurulan yakınlıktan dolayı duyulan ızdıraptır.

Mahzuni Şerif bu eserde, aldatılmış bir yüreğin feryadını dile getirir. Şarkı sadece bir aşk acısı değil, bir insanın başka bir insana duyduğu inancın çöküşüdür.
