In Defence Of Edwina Sharma

I don’t think it’s controversial to say that Season 2 of Bridgerton is the most popular of the three so far. Yes everyone has their personal favourites, but overall, the second season just rises above the other two. The chemistry between Anthony Bridgerton and Kate Sharma is off the charts, and you simply can’t help but love them. With that being said though, such popularity can sometimes lead to heavy toxicity. This can result in shipping wars, but it can also result in character bashing. After all, anyone who DARES stand in the way of Anthony and Kate deserves the hate. Right? Guys? Well, that’s what seems to be the case when it comes to Kate’s younger sister, Edwina Sharma. I for one, do love Kate and Anthony, but I do believe their love story is a lot more nuanced than people treat it, and I don’t feel the need to martyr their characters in order to think their relationship is worthwhile. To me, that’s what I think is happening when a lot of fans hate on Edwina, and today I want to see if I can change that perspective.
