This is a little change of pace from my normal firearms related content, but I have many hobbies, and maybe some of my viewers might enjoy guitars and amps, as well. My older guitar videos sucked, the sound sucked, the recording sucked, and everything was just kind of terrible. I'm still no professional, but I've come a long way since, and upgraded my gear a fair bit, and learned more about how to use it properly. Hopefully yall will enjoy these videos much more than the old ones that were kind of terrible.
I collect old vintage 2-channel Mesa Rectifier amps, and have a fairly nice and diverse collection. You will see more of them in the future randomly mixed in with my firearms videos, just to keep things fresh.
So, amp specs are as follows...
1992 Mesa Dual Rectifier (early) Rev-F, with the MK-III transformers. It has recently been refreshed by Mike B. over at Mesa, and has a few small things replaced/repaired on it. But overall, mostly original, other than the tubes... I am running a new set of Mesa (Sovtek) STR-443 Red code power tubes, Mesa (Sovtek) 5U4G rectifier tubes, and Mesa SPAX-7 and 12AX-7 preamp tubes.
1995 Mesa Dual Rectifier (early) Rev-G, with the early MK-IV transformers. It has also recently been repaired and refreshed by Mike B. over at Mesa, but overall, mostly original, other than the tubes, and having Mike do the Parallel-to-Series FX loop mod while he had it in there. I am running a new set of Mesa (Sovtek) STR-443 Red code power tubes, Mesa (Sovtek) 5U4G rectifier tubes, and Mesa SPAX-7 and 12AX-7 preamp tubes.
The cabinet is my original 1999 Mesa Standard OverSize Rectifier 4x12, that still has the original 1999 Mesa-spec (T4335) UK-built Celestion Vintage 30 speakers in it. And it sounds absolutely amazing! This cab has a massive sound to it.
In the FX loop I'm running a Mesa Head/Track A/B amp switcher, so I can run 2 heads into 1 cab, and swap between them with a simple push of a switch.
In the FX Loops I'm running a Fortin ZUUL Blackout noise gate.
Mic is a simple Shure SM57 setup in an SE Electronic microphone filter stand. It works really well for blocking pick noises and anything outside of the sonic area around the mic. Highly recommend.
Guitar is an ESP LTD M1001-NT, with a Fishman Fluence Modern hum bucker and Ernie Ball Mammoth Slinky .012" to 0.062" strings. Guitar is tuned to Drop-C (C-G-C-F-A-D).
