/ sxswlawnparty James Blake was without a doubt one of the most talked-about artists at SXSW 2011, making one of his very first U.S. appearances on our Hill Stage at the Lawn Party. The British dubstep crooner could not walk down 6th Street without being mobbed this week, and the Lawn Party was bursting at the seams, with hundreds more lined up around the block hoping for entry when he took the stage on Friday. Girls screamed up front and thousands of fans crammed in beneath our shady tent, but the heat coming off the stage was hotter than the sun above, and the entire party was rapt as Blake and his band delivered a remarkably intimate, totally mesmerizing set that more than lived up to the huge expectations of the crowd.
