In January 2021, Hidden Canal Nature Preserve was established along the banks of the White River in Anderson, IN. This protected habitat creates a corridor so wildlife like deer, fish, birds and otters can migrate undisturbed. Within the floodplain forest are remnants of the Hydraulic Canal, an 1870s engineering disaster story. The natural landscape, cultural legacy and life within these woods are now protected forever by Red-tail Land Conservancy.
