Times Radio: Reform's electoral surge shows Labour must change course

Reform UK's success in the Runcorn by-election and council elections across the country is a major warning to the Labour Government, business leader, philanthropist, Phones 4U founder and former Tory donor John Caudwell told Nick Wallis on Times Radio.
Caudwell also clashed with former Labour Transport Secretary Louise Haigh's diagnosis that the Government should respond to Reform's popularity with widespread tax hikes and re-industrialisation.
Instead, Caudwell argued that the Government is appearing too business-unfriendly and scaring wealth away.
"We have to get the policies right. We can't just drive people out of the country and lose those wealth creators to other domains."
After a lifetime of voting Conservative, and donating £500,000 to the Tories at the 2019 election, Caudwell publicly backed Labour for the first time at last year's General Election.
