How to Do Odd Count Peyote Bead Weaving

Odd Count Peyote Bead Weaving allows you to create a center line in your patterns so you can do diamonds, chevrons and more. Odd count means that there are an odd number of columns but you can make your pattern as many rows as you want.

As one of my favorite stitches, peyote is a great beginner stitch because it has so much variety once you master it. In this video, I walk you through how to start odd count peyote.

In this video, you will also see how to tie off and add more thread. An average size bracelet will have you using about 12-15 feet of thread so to save yourself time untangling thread, please work with a length that you are comfortable working with. I’d say on average about 4-6 feet at a time is plenty.
