Very few people fit perfectly into the size chart on a sewing pattern and often span one or two or even more sizes. In these instances you can grade between sizes to get a better fit from your sewing pattern and I show you how to do it in this video tutorial.

I'll show you the basics including when you might not need to grade and how to work it out, how to grade between sizes on a straight seam, how to grade between sizes working with a bust dart, how to match corresponding sewing pattern pieces up when grading between sizes, how to grade between sizes on trousers, the tools and books you can use to grade between sewing pattern sizes and improve the fit of your handmade garments.
