We met Emily while filming Dregs of the City: Seattle, which is a short documentary that explores the streets of Seattle, a city that has been plagued by several devastating epidemics, but none as dangerous and as fast-acting as this one. A city once known for fishing, grunge, and the tech boom is now known mostly for its chaos.

Emily’s story unfortunately is not unique. While it might be shocking for people watching, the rate of homeless youth is increasing every year. Explore our conversation with Emily to dive into some of the details of why that might be.
