Route History
Route 440 began on 27th May 2002 running from Stamford Brook Garage to Park Royal Asda operating from Stamford Brook Garage by London United with single deckers. On 1st March 2003 it was extended from Park Royal Asda to Stonebridge Park Station.
On 26th May 2007 the route was withdrawn between Stamford Brook Garage and Turnham Green Church and transferred to NCP Challenger from Park Royal Garage which a few years later was rebranded NSL services, however on the 16th November 2009 NSL services sold its operations to London United so the route returned to London United remaining at Park Royal Garage.
On 9th January 2010 the route was extended from Turnham Green Church to Chiswick, Power Road.
On 9th March 2019 the route was withdrawn between Chiswick Power Road and Turnham Green Church and on 7th December 2019 the route was extended from Stonebridge Park Station to Wembley First Way, and re-routed via Horn Lane direct to North Action with new route 218 replacing some of the original routing.
