June 2025 - Sailing Zephyr IV, my Westerly Ocean Quest on our way back home. A slow start leaving Falmouth with drizzle and light wind. Motored to Dodman Point under a blue sky with unusual fragmented white clouds.
Once round Dodman Point the wind picked up and we had a rollicking sail to Fowey. No wind to 25 knots in less than half an hour, what a variable day.
The town moorings in Fowey proved uncomfortable when the wind increased and blew straight in the harbour entrance so we escaped up the River Fowey to find a delightful quiet mooring by Wiseman's Point. After a quiet night we left Fowey heading for Salcombe..
