In the 18th Century, The Appalachian Mountains were the frontier of the thirteen original British Colonies in America. It was the wild west of the time with native raiding parties, highwaymen, and opposing militaries making an ever present danger for the settlers expanding into the mountains. To protect the local people forts sprung up all the the mountains. Come on along as we look at a few of them that have been restored and present immersive living history demonstrations.
