Colt Mustang & Government .380 Review | Classic Concealed Carry Legends from the 1980s

Hey, it's Matt with Midwest Guns and Gear, and today we’re taking a closer look at two classic Colt .380 pistols — the Colt Government .380 and the Colt Mustang.

These compact handguns were Colt’s answer to the demand for a smaller, lighter 1911-style pistol that’s easy to conceal but still feels great in the hand. I’ll go over a bit of the history, the differences between the models, and we’ll take both down to the range for some real-world testing.

Both pistols share that classic Colt DNA — single action, solid triggers, and timeless design — but each has its own quirks that make it special.
