In this video I make a heavy micrometer stand for easier measuring of parts using the lathe and milling machine.
Rough costs and time to build - I often wonder on machining channels how much time and money people spend on projects, so I thought I'd list here incase it's helpful to anyone:
• Time spent: ~30 hours (spread over 3 weeks)
• Materials: £75 (with some spare stock left over)
• Tooling: £32 (Broken end mills)
Materials:
• 60mm x 40mm Mild Steel Bar (Main Body)
• 19mm Brass Square Bar (Sliding Anvil)
• 40mm Brass Round bar (Handle)
• 15mm Brass round bar (Lead Screw)
• M6 Countersunk Screw
Machines used:
• Myford ML7 Lathe
• Rocketronics ELS (Electronic Lead Screw) system
• Warco WM18B Milling machine
