What happens when a Hungarian who never lived in Hungary visits Budapest for the first time? Chaos, culture shock, a little identity crisis… and one really good bowl of goulash.

I flew to Budapest with my Korean friend to explore the city my passport says I’m from — even though I was born in Serbia and have only ever lived in Korea and Ireland. Turns out, Budapest isn’t just cool… it might be the best city I’ve ever visited. We ate, hiked, bathed, mispronounced street names, and accidentally offended a waiter. 10/10 would come again.
