Saxophonist Sebastian Mattebo is a fearless and versatile musician, always exploring new directions. He leads several of his own ensembles and recently released the EP The Mire on Tengtones. In addition to his own projects, he’s an in-demand sideman with groups like the Stockholm Jazz Orchestra and EBU’s Euroradio Jazz Orchestra. In 2025, he was named one of the three finalists in the Royal Swedish Academy of Music’s “Wind Music Prize – Jazz.”

Jonas Knutsson is a renowned jazz and folk musician, member of the Royal Swedish Academy of Music, Grammy winner, and artistic director of the Umeå Jazz Festival. His curiosity and joy in music-making have made him a unique voice on the saxophone, taking the instrument to new places.

This evening marks the first collaboration between these two Umeå-born saxophonists, joined by Jesper Söderqvist on vibraphone and Johan Tengholm on double bass — two of Stockholm’s most exciting young jazz musicians. Together they form a brand-new quartet for this special concert.
