A number of advisories from the National Weather Service prompted officials to close beaches around Ventura, California and warn others to stay away from the coastline. Video from the Ventura County Fire Department shows gawkers standing behind a parking lot wall. A wave crashed over the wall, sending people running. Some were not fast enough for the force of the water. Officials say this wave alone sent eight people to the hospital.
