driving from vancity to LA, meeting aurora, and finding myself again (may 2022)

it took three years to get this edited LOL i meant to do it but was working, having a baby, bought a new computer & didn't transfer the files, but i finally got it done today haha. i was 20 at this time and it was my first ever solo-trip! about four months before i went to norway!!

i'd had my car for six months at this point, and hygge for almost a year (she turned 1 when i got home hehe). i also wasn't big into filming quite like i am now and REALLY just lived in the moment, blasting music and talking to myself, enjoying the journey and enjoying the drive. i have always loved driving and never found it to be a chore. it was a lot of fun and this trip meant so much to me!

i was having issues at work due to my abusive "ex" being a coworker and bringing a looooot of drama onto the floor. my manager also sucked and deliberately instigated the situation. i tried to stay professional but honestly the job wasn't really worth it and i ended up quitting without notice whilst on this trip. i had no job for only a month and really enjoyed the time off, then got back into nannying for a few months before my norway trip! then i was sick with EVERYTHING (thanks covid + flu season) and ended 2022 almost hospitalised lol. then more nannying, career change, and baby!

this trip 100% changed the direction of my life though. and honestly? the whole change of events from 2020 now has been evidence that jesus is real and so fulfilling. everything that's happened in my life since accepting that "calling" and following that path jesus has planned for me???? unreal. absolutely unreal.

seeing aurora live and getting to talk to her 10/10 experience. holding that very near & dear to my heart. her blatant support of antisemitism and sheer violence & hatred is why i don't follow her anymore. not because she supports palestinian people, but actually promoting hate & violence towards innocent jewish & israeli people. it is so disappointing to see and i just can't associate with it. :(

i feel a lot of nostalgia watching this video & also a bit of envy of 20yo me??? it made me kinda sit back and go ?? why don't i do this more?? i'm sooo close to packing E into my car and driving to jasper LOL. i cannot think of a single reason why we shouldn't, esp because i actually have money now??? maybe work? i have to work and can't go away for weeks???? idk i should do it. we should go to jasper.

ALSO i wanted to add that the people i met along the way (steven, wade, ROZ I LOVE ROZ, hya, santiago, and so many others that i cant remember the names of) made this trip extra extra special. the conversations that we had outside of the venue in san francisco, i'll never forget. the advice that i was given, and the support...i was on this frivolous roadtrip with no money?? and everyone was supportive? because i needed it so badly. and i'm just so thankful. so endlessly thankful.
