Porsche OEM Exhaust vs. SOUL Performance Valved Exhaust - Porsche 911 (997)

It’s EXHAUST TEST TIME!! In this video (extended cut and includes car specs info) I compare a brand new Sports Exhaust system from SOUL PERFORMANCE PRODUCTS (complete with remote controlled valves and CARBON FIBER TIPS) against the stock / OEM exhaust from Porsche. Both exhausts are installed on near-identical 2006 Porsche 911s (997.1).

My black 997.1 Carrera, running a standard OEM Porsche exhaust, is a rear-wheel drive C2 Coupe with the GT3 aerokit.

The silver 997.1 Carrera cabriolet, running the #SOULPERFORMANCE exhaust, is a rear-wheel C2S with the GT2 body kit. This car also has: 3rd party 200 Cel Cats, 3rd party Air Intake System and 3rd Party Headers.

Is the OEM Porsche exhaust too tame or just right? Does the Soul Performance valved sports exhaust give the Porsche 997 a sporty, classic OEM CUP car sound or is it too aggressive? YOU DECIDE!! We perform several comparisons in this video - engine start up, stationary engine revving and several drive-bys out on the road.

Soul Performance’s valved exhaust system is billed as offering a sporty OEM+ sound with the values closed and then a race-inspired sound when the valves are open. The default valve orientation upon startup is closed, which is intended to provide a refined warm-up experience and sound. Once you’re away from your neighbors and ready to let your P-car rip, you press the button, the valves open and you’re supposed to get an exhaust tone reminiscent of air-cooled CUP cars.
