Roaring Knight 1.5x Speed 1 HIT (DELTARUNE)

i have put a lot of effort into trying to do this boss hitless over the past week. unfortunately, despite having two 1 hit fails, five 2 hit fails, and more 3 hit fails, it is unlikely that i will have the motivation to finish this off. i rarely get the energy to do things like this, but was very fascinated by this boss and the thought of this challenge in general that i really wanted to do it. unfortunately that burst of motivation has not lasted enough.

this boss is beautifully designed. it is one of the coolest and best bossfights i've had the pleasure of experiencing. dodging the different attacks this boss throws at you is like performing a dance to the death. the fight has a LOT of rng in almost every single attack, but it does not matter that much and simply allows for interesting variation in patterns.

unfortunately, but also obviously, it was not designed to be sped up. at this speed, you are reliant on getting good rng instead of just adapting to what you get at 1x speed, because some patterns are simply not able to be reacted to. this essentially turns every attack into a mini lottery, and as you can imagine, it is not particularly enjoyable. both stars attacks are able to corner you and hit you if you're unlucky. the first "teeth" attack is much easier to dodge from the bottom for me, but there's a 50/50 chance i have to dodge from the left instead, which is extremely hard. the end of both sword corridors can give no closeby spaces to dodge, leaving you with no time to react, made worse by how insanely unforgiving the hitboxes are. the rotating slash attacks are almost impossible to react to, so much so that near the end of my grind, i was literally leaving rotating slash 1 up to rng instead of trying and failing to dodge. even the ultimate attack can give unfavourable patterns that are extremely hard to dodge.

i likely would have continued to try this challenge regardless, but unfortunately, due to having a chronic health condition, playing this boss is extremely intense. i cannot stop my heart from pounding constantly on every attempt. worst of all, my nerves are absolutely terrible and cannot be controlled through practicing attacks. i always, without fail, become extremely shaky and nervous near the end of the fight. it's hard to explain how this feels, but pretty much, attempting to finish this challenges impacts me physically to the point where it feels bad to even think about trying it again.

maybe this will all be for nothing and i will end up doing this fight hitless regardless. at the very least, im hopeful that someone else will be able to finish it themselves. eenox may be interested in trying it soon and im very excited to see that. i also hope that it is a very difficult challenge.

i did use a practice tool, but otherwise the fight is the exact same as in vanilla. this tool allows me to practice attacks over and over again to achieve consistency, and allows me to restart the fight quicker. i've been told that using the tool this way is perfectly fine in terms of legitimacy.
