Following baby Darren’s death, grief ripples through the street. Ken (Bill Roache) continues to struggle following David’s (Alan Rothwell) death, confiding in Val (Anne Reid) that he thinks the wrong brother died. Stan (Bernard Youens) tries to get a message to Hilda (Jean Alexander) before she lands in Australia. Lucille (Jennifer Moss) attempts to sabotage Sandra (Patricia Fuller) and Ray’s (Neville Buswell) wedding plans, but Maggie (Irene Sutcliffe) wants nothing to do with it. Audrey (Gillian McCann) is confronted by Dickie (Nigel Humphreys) after Lucille reveals her secret kiss with Ray. Under pressure, Maggie confirms what she saw, and Audrey admits to him she is in love with Ray.
