Welcome to today’s Rosary — The Luminous Mysteries, prayed every Thursday. Join us as we meditate on the life and light of Jesus Christ through these five beautiful mysteries introduced by Saint John Paul II.
The Luminous Mysteries (Thursday)
1️⃣ The Baptism of Jesus in the Jordan
📖 Scripture: “And when Jesus was baptized, he went up immediately from the water, and behold, the heavens were opened and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove.” — Matthew 3:16
💭 Reflection: In this mystery, we witness the humility of Jesus as He receives baptism from John. We remember our own baptism and our calling to live as children of God.
2️⃣ The Wedding at Cana
📖 Scripture: “When the wine ran short, the mother of Jesus said to him, ‘They have no wine.’ … Jesus said to them, ‘Fill the jars with water.’ … and the water became wine.” — John 2:3-9
💭 Reflection: Jesus performs His first public miracle at His mother’s request, revealing His divine power and blessing marriage as a holy covenant of love.
3️⃣ The Proclamation of the Kingdom of God
📖 Scripture: “The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand; repent, and believe in the gospel.” — Mark 1:15
💭 Reflection: Jesus calls all people to conversion and faith, offering forgiveness and eternal life. We pray for a heart open to His message and courage to share it with others.
4️⃣ The Transfiguration of Jesus
📖 Scripture: “And he was transfigured before them; his face shone like the sun, and his garments became white as light.” — Matthew 17:2
💭 Reflection: On the mountain, Jesus reveals His divine glory to Peter, James, and John. We pray for eyes to see His presence shining in our daily lives.
5️⃣ The Institution of the Eucharist
📖 Scripture: “This is my body which is given for you. Do this in remembrance of me.” — Luke 22:19
💭 Reflection: At the Last Supper, Jesus gives us the gift of His Body and Blood — the Holy Eucharist — as a perpetual sign of His love and sacrifice.
