This aired at 7:50 PM on March 8, apparently pre-empting all television in the DC area. Like most sane human beings, I muted my television as soon as the screeching noise began. I wondered why they would have an Amber Alert and interrupt prime time TV for a minute, yet provide no information at all in the alert. As it turns out, the details are only in the soundtrack which of course I had muted.
Anyway - major criticisms:
1) 1960's technology used for this "alert system"
2) No picture
3) No info provided except in audio track
I'm also a bit curious as to what led to this TV broadcast. in 20 years I've never seen an amber (or any other) alert before on prime time TV, though I've seen plenty on email and on highway signs.
