Gemsbuck also known as Oryx, have incredible eyesight. Native to the open plains, they tend to enjoy the grass covered, mountain tops of the rolling Eastern Cape ranges.
Getting within shooting distance requires great skill and luck. After spotting them early in the morning, we finally got our opportunity through a very small gap in a tree.
A very challenging shot was successfully mastered through the opening with a 325 WSM - a beautiful animal with even better tasting meat.
