The RENAULT 4L ("L" for "Luxury"), pronounced "quatrelle", is a small popular car with a simple and practical design. It was also the first application of front-wheel drive on a renault touring car.
The renault 4 was so named because it was equipped with a 4 fiscal horsepower engine. It was built in 28 countries between August 1961 and December 1992. It is the second best-selling french car, with 8,135,424 units sold.
The "4L - Export -" model differed from the basic model in that it was more highly finished, with the addition of chrome accessories and bumpers.
