In this video, I’ll show you how to take a single column containing multiple values (like a list of image URLs) and split it into individual rows using Power Query in Power BI.
💡 My dataset has a column called all_image_urls, where each property listing includes several images — all stored together in one field, separated by a semicolon.
The issue? When used in a slicer or table, the images don’t render properly.
Here’s the fix:
Go to Transform Data (Power Query)
Right-click the column and choose Split Column then by Delimiter
Set the delimiter to ; (semicolon)
Under Advanced Options, choose Split into Rows
Set the Data Category to Image URL to show the images correctly
🎯 This approach is super useful for:
Displaying multiple photos from listings
Splitting tags or categories
Cleaning up fields with repeated values
If you're working with scraped or imported data, this is a must-know Power BI trick to clean and reshape your dataset fast!
