Skaði — ruler of snow, hunting and mountains | Epic nordic chant

Goddess of winter, solitude and harsh justice.
She does not ask the gods for mercy. She knows none of the warmth of the lowlands.
Her kingdom is the peaks, her law is frost and silence.

This piece is a frosty Nordic chant inspired by Norse mythology, sagas and Eddic poetry.

Verse I
Í fjǫllum býr Skaði ein,
Með bogann spenntan, spor í snjó.
Kuldi er hennar móðir,
Þǫgn er hennar dómr.
Úlfar þekkja nafn hennar,
Ok vindr hlýðir skrefum.

Skaði — drottning snjóa,
Veiðir í þǫgn ok frosti.
Fjǫllin bera lög hennar,
Engi maðr flýr dóm fjalls.

Hon eltir bráð um bláa dali,
Á skíðum fer sem draugr.
Ei kallar hon á hjálp goða,
Ei biðr hon milda hluti.
Sá er flýr fjallið lifir ei,
Sá er stendur — er metinn.
