Hiking Roque del Conde near Playa de Las Américas - Tenerife South

This time we show you one of the mountains with the best views of Tenerife south.
If you decide to take this walk, it won't let you down!
The route starts with a climb to the top of "Roque del Conde", the table top mountain that all the tourists can see from the beaches and resorts. While only barely above 1000m it is one of main land marks of the island.
From the flat summit it is guaranteed great views of El Medano to the big cliff of Los Gigantes! The spectacular contrast of the city like las Americas, Los Cristianos, Fañabe....and the farmland is awesome! On a clear day you can also see all the 4 others Islands: la Gomera, el Hierro, la Palma and Gran Canaria.
After the summit the walk continues down to the opposite side that we don’t advise taking your Nan down. At the bottom of the first decent you have the option to go straight and walk the full 10km loop or turn right and head back to the start basically halving the route to about 6km.

This is a loop that we do regularly because is fairly easy to do in half a day. It's a good one for hikers without much experience.
You can also go with your children and family but we suggest don't do the complete loop, just going up and back from the same path.
If they aren't up for the challenge there's a bar just on the bottom (now close for covid) where they can wait you having a drink, or beer and tapas :)
We also stopped at a natural fountain with water that comes directly from the mountain surrounded by peppermint!
