Описание:

HTTP (HyperText Transfer Protocol) and HTTPS (HyperText Transfer Protocol Secure) are both protocols used for transmitting data over the web, but they have some key differences:

1. **Security**:
**HTTP**: Data sent over HTTP is not encrypted, making it vulnerable to interception by attackers. This lack of encryption means that sensitive information, such as login credentials or personal details, can be easily accessed by malicious actors.
**HTTPS**: Data sent over HTTPS is encrypted using SSL (Secure Sockets Layer) or TLS (Transport Layer Security). This encryption ensures that the data is secure and protected from eavesdroppers, making it much safer for transmitting sensitive information.

2. **Port Numbers**:
**HTTP**: Typically uses port 80 for communication.
**HTTPS**: Typically uses port 443 for communication.

3. **Certificate Requirement**:
**HTTP**: Does not require any certificates for its operation.
**HTTPS**: Requires a digital certificate (SSL/TLS certificate) issued by a Certificate Authority (CA) to verify the identity of the website and establish a secure connection.

4. **Trust and Authenticity**:
**HTTP**: Since it does not use certificates, there is no verification of the website's authenticity, which can lead to trust issues.
**HTTPS**: Provides a way to verify the authenticity of the website through the SSL/TLS certificate, ensuring users that the site they are visiting is legitimate and trusted.

5. **SEO Benefits**:
**HTTP**: No particular SEO benefits.
**HTTPS**: Search engines like Google give preference to HTTPS websites in search rankings, as they are considered more secure and trustworthy.

6. **Visual Indicators in Browsers**:
**HTTP**: Browsers typically show an information symbol or a "Not Secure" warning in the address bar.
**HTTPS**: Browsers display a padlock symbol, indicating that the connection is secure.

In summary, HTTPS is a more secure version of HTTP, providing encryption and authentication, which are critical for protecting user data and establishing trust on the web.
