Verdi’s ‘Triumphal March’ (or Grand March) from Aida is one of the great mainstays of orchestral repertoire – so of course it has been a popular choice for organ transcriptions.
I decided to write my own transcription because I wanted one that would be not too challenging to play, while retaining the best aspects of the original. It’s a great choice for a concert performance, and can easily demonstrate a variety of registrations on the organ.
Played on the 1903 Mutin / Cavaillé-Coll organ of Notre Dame de Metz, through the power of Hauptwerk. My greatest thanks to Kim for filming the performance.
