When people participate in alienating a parent or other family member, they may not realize they are actually participating in child abuse. Dr. Jennifer Harmon explains how family alienation is child abuse.
Dr. Jennifer Harman is a scientist and educator who has been researching and publishing on the topic of parental alienation for over 12 years. Having published dozens of scientific peer-reviewed articles, books, and book chapters on this topic, she have become an expert who has provided legal consulting services for legal and judicial professionals and families for the last decade.
Dr. Harman has trained judicial officers in several states across the U.S. (e.g. Minnesota, Oklahoma, Virginia, Texas), as well as several state Bar Associations (e.g., New Mexico, Wyoming, Oklahoma) on parental alienation, domestic violence, and legal interventions for this problem. While she no longer provides expert witness testimony, she does regularly provide case consult and review services for mental health and legal professionals, and coaching services for forensic specialists to help them prepare for expert witness testimony.
