Went fishing on January 17th, 2026, after a couple super cold nights. Water temp dropped 10+ degrees! Saw some females up shallow around 3ish lbs but could not get them to eat. I could not get a bite on jerkbait or crankbait either fishing 3-8ft of water, so I decided to stay shallow hoping the water be warmer. Slow day overall with no big fish. Caught these on 5' yum dinger Junebug color. Maybe next time it is cold I will try fishing even deeper!!
Hopefully next time out produces some better fish. I am excited for the next few months! I will try to get on water again by the 23rd of January.
