This video shows a modified Bassett Lowke Mogul on it's inaugural post modification run, when it managed to pull a light train, and kept going without stops. Prior to modification the same locomotive could barely manage a circuit of the GBR mainline 'light engine'.
The cylinders were a bit leaky so new end caps sealed with modern o rings were made. A read of "7mm Live Steam - The Eddie Cooke Articles" (published by the Gauge 0 Guild and available from their web site) revealed that the existing valve gear could be improved by making and fitting a moveable, two position return crank, so this modification was made using the drawings in the book.
