Transform Your Short Hair with Sew In Extensions

Hair extensions for short hair:

Watch me as I take my client from short hair to mid length hair using the power of hair extensions.

For my client, we are using the Bellami Infinity wefts stacked and layered to create gorgeous dimension to match her natural hair color. I also had to get creative with the placement of the rows to make sure that I’m giving my client full coverage throughout.

When are we working with short hair and taking it longer, it’s really important to remember that your placement is going to be incredibly unique and it has to give you coverage in more areas than a regular install; for example, my rows in this install are pretty much back to back because I want to leave very little hair in between the rows otherwise we’ll see those shorter pieces pop through.

As we work our way up higher on the head, we have to think about where that natural hair is going to lay. I always take into consideration the crown and bear in mind that with wefts I can’t work up incredibly high otherwise the tracks are going to be noticeable. Luckily, my client has really thick hair so it has given me a lot more room to fill in with the extensions without worrying about the wefts being noticeable.

I also got creative with my placement around the sides. I wanted to work up high, but knew I couldn’t do so with a standard row. I had to do mini rows in order for it to work, otherwise the end of the row would poke out and show.

Installations like this are definitely challenging, but at the same time they are so enjoyable it definitely pushes me out of my comfort zone and really makes me think: Where am I going to place these extensions and how can I make them look the most natural possible?
